List of parts 4 w742 quick connect fittings 3 w740 quick connect fittings 3 FlyHigh bags made for axis or just get a kit with everything Start by removing the the cover under the skybox seat and the engine cover, remove all hoses from the vented loops and take off the 2 inner vented loops, (these just keep the water from syphoning out of the bags, you only need 1 per side) follow the hose from the pump and hook it to the inner leg of the loop, then run another hose from the outer leg to the top of the bag, then take the one going into the floor hooked to the tank and hook it to the front lower port on the bag. Do this on both sides and you're done in the rear section.

When you are finished with the rear section you should follow your hoses to make sure they are right, start at the pump in the floor, then it should go to a hoop on the seat back, from the hoop to the top of the bag, from the front lower port on the bag to the tank, done, I have tried many ways on hooking up the bags and this is the most foolproof and hassle free way to do it without spending a ridiculous amount of money trying to save yourself 5 minutes.

Look under the chillax seat and find the Y connector, disconnect the 3 hoses going to it, the one going to the front headed under the helm is the vent, put a 90 deg fitting on this hose and hook it to the top rear of the bag, this is where the most air pockets get trapped and the only way for them to get out, flip the switch that says front to drain and find the hose making noise, hook this hose to the lower rear port of the bag with a straight fitting. the last hose should be the fill hose, I have spent a lot of time messing with the front bag and check valves and all sorts of things and this is the best way so far to fill it and not have problems. First off you will need an extra 6-8' of hose to do this but its cheaper than the check valve anyway. recycle one of the hoops you took off the rear and mount it with 1/2 long screws as high as you can up by the glove box, run the hose from the fill pump to this, run the new hose you purchased from the hoop to the farthest forward port on the bag. I tested last weekend and the bag no longer mysteriously drains or auto-fills due to pressure being behind the check valve, it will now work just like the rear and front tank. no more having to shut off the valve on the pump, just fill and go. be sure to feel the thickness of the fiberglass before you go screwing around, every boat may not be exactly alike, mine had about 1-1/2 inches of thickness right by the radius so there was plenty of material to screw to, just be careful and make sure you don't poke through the other side.

What I have found and others have too is sometimes the pumps get air-locked, to remedy this either get the boat up to 15-20mph and turn on the pumps, or if you're stopped turn on the pumps, if you can’t hear water going into the bags unhook the fill hose and suck on it, the pump will prime very quickly, if it doesn't check to see if the ball valves are open at the fill pump, all 4 pumps have them. While the rear bags are filling it may be necessary to loosen the top vent plug to get air out of the bag, the bags will swell up pretty big and water will continue to flow through the bag into the tank until the tank is full and vents out the side of the boat. |

I don't have pictures but some people have experienced the front bag getting water from the drain line on the front tank, the factory has the tank and bag sharing the drain port with a Y connector in the footwell. To remedy this little bug remove the footwell and hook up the drain lines on the Y to the outlets that the vent lines are individually on, for some reason the vents don't seem to burp out water like the drain lines do. this way when the bag and tank are being drained they have their own port to drain out of, the vents aren't really that big of a deal, they'll take care of themselves once the bag and tank get full. |

Thanks Walter, this is a very helpful write-up. I also asked for help from Axis on Facebook and received a video instruction from Matt though it is a slightly different procedure than what you have done. I'll study them both a lille closer when I get the bags in. Again...I really appreciate your efforts and time, you are clearly an asset to this forum. |
